General Cigar Ships Redemption From El Titan De Bronze
Redemption from El Titan de Bronze was one of the buzzier products shown by General Cigar Co. at the PCA trade show in March. News had just broken that the small Miami cigar factory signed a distribution deal with General to handle its Redemption brand, and the cigars are heading to retailers now.
While it may seem an unusual alliance, the two companies have worked together before. General contracted El Titan to produce a Miami-made line of Cohiba (Partagas de Bronce). The difference here is that El Titan not only produces Redemption, but wholly owns the brand as well. General serves as Redemption’s exclusive distributor. (It does not distribute El Titan’s other cigar lines.)
Although El Titan de Bronze already produced a Redemption series, this is an entirely new Redemption blend that consists of a sun-grown, Ecuador Habano wrapper, Nicaraguan binder from Estelí and Nicaraguan filler from Estelí and Jalapa. It comes in three sizes: Corona (at 5 5/8 inches by 46 ring), Robusto (5 by 50) and Toro (6 by 52). They have suggested retail prices ranging from $15.99 to $17.99 each, and are packaged in 10-count boxes.
Started in 1995 by Sandy Cobas, El Titan de Bronze is located in Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood and is one of the few factories left in Miami producing cigars.
General Cigar is a subsidiary of Scandinavian Tobacco Group, which owns, produces and distributes cigar brands such as Macanudo, Partagas, CAO and La Gloria Cubana.
