Villiger Cuéllar Caribe Coming Next Week
Villiger’s Dominican Cuéllar series has a mild brand (Kreme) and a strong blend (Black Forest), but it’s missing something in the middle. That’s changing next week. The medium-bodied Cuéllar Caribe will be shipping to retailers on the first of February, making for a complete trio of cigar brands.
Like the other two lines, Cuéllar Caribe is made in the Dominican Republic at Jochy Blanco’s Tabacalera Palma factory. It’s composed of Dominican tobacco underneath an Ecuador Habano wrapper and comes in four sizes: Robusto, measuring 5 inches by 48 ring gauge ($11); Toro Gordo at 6 by 54 ($11.50); Torpedo, 6 1/4 by 52 ($12); and a 7-by-50 Churchill ($12). All sizes are presented in 20-count boxes.
“The Villiger Cuéllar line is one of our top-selling brands,” says René Castañeda president of Villiger North America. “We asked Jochy Blanco to help us develop a medium-bodied blend to complement the two existing ones. After experimenting with multiple blends, we decided on a refined version of the Villiger TAA 2021—which Jochy Blanco crafted for us—to be the new Caribe blend.
The Villiger Cuéllar series is owned and distributed by Villiger North America, a U.S. subsidiary of Villiger Söhne AG, based in Switzerland.
