CAO Completes FASA Trilogy With Sombra

First, there was tapado, a cheesecloth tenting that diffuses the sunshine.
In addition to the Ecuadoran wrapper, CAO FASA Sombra consists of a Cameroon binder and filler tobacco from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. The new line is made in the Dominican Republic at the General Cigar Dominicana factory and comes in two sizes: Toro, at 6 inches by 50 ring gauge, and the 6-by-60 Gigante. Both come in 24-count boxes and will have suggested retail prices of $6.99 and $7.99 each, respectively.
According to General Cigar, which is owned by parent company Scandinavian Tobacco Group, the cigars should start shipping to retailers on April 7.
“FASA Sombra was created to bring the FASA lineup full circle,” explains Cory Beardsley, brand manager for CAO. “With Sol, we delivered a bold sun-grown expression. With Noche, a rich maduro profile. And now with Sombra, we’ve crafted a refined, shade-grown smoke that’s smooth yet layered. The FASA trilogy now offers the ideal smoking experience; morning, noon or night.”
