Long Delayed El Rey Del Mundo WIH 20 Arriving in Lebanon

Nearly two years late, Lebanon’s Regional Edition cigar for 2017 will finally be arriving within the next week. The El Rey Del Mundo WIH 20 was made to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Lebanon’s duty-free shop in the Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport. This shop opened in 1997 and is home to the first (and largest) walk-in humidor ever installed at a duty-free.
The letters WIH stand for “walk in humidor,” and 20 is a nod to the belated anniversary. The cigar was supposed to be on sale in 2017.
Measuring 5 7/8 inches by 54 ring gauge, the new El Rey del Mundo WIH 20 is a size known as Geniales in Cuban cigar factories. The cigar is distributed by Phoenicia Trading A.A., the official distributor of Cuban cigars for more than 40 countries, including Lebanon, Cyprus, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
The El Rey del Mundo RE 2017 was actually beaten to market by Phoenicia’s 2018 Regional Edition—the Diplomaticos Ammunition, which went on sale in November. That Regional Edition cigar, which is the same size as the Rey del Mundo WIH 20, retails for $20 at Beirut duty free and $22 in the rest of the markets.
Only 8,000 boxes of the El Rey del Mundo WIH 20 will be produced. They will come packaged in 25-count boxes, though a retail price has yet to be established.
